Opening on 7th April 2026, just after Easter, the Balearic Island of Menorca is set to host the first edition of 'Cultural Opening – Island of Art'. The event was officially unveiled by the President of the Consell Insular de Menorca at World Travel Market in London, where officials presented it as a flagship cultural initiative that will kick off the island's 2026 tourism and arts calendar. Positioned in a serene, mediterranean haven of natural beauty, the two-week long celebration aims to consolidate Menorca's position as one of Europe's most inspiring art destinations.

Each day will offer a new route to follow from Museu de Menorca's Sculpture Walk to concerts and gastronomic tastings, inviting locals and visitors alike to explore the island's artistic landscape in both urban and rural settings.

With over 35 galleries and exhibition spaces already active on the islands, the Cultural Opening aims to enhance this ecosystem by promoting dialogue between contemporary art and Menorca's unique natural and cultural heritage. Organisers emphasise that the festival will showcase how in Menorca “art is not just seen – it's lived”.
