A pillow can be a deal breaker for a great night's sleep and having your own from home can be the best thing you take on a holiday.

Whether you're travelling somewhere exotic, cruising the oceans, travelling for business, or having a family holiday, having your pillow is the best night's sleep guaranteed?

There is something so comforting about our pillows when we are away from home. “Pack the comforts of home – at least your pillow – do whatever is necessary to guarantee you will be well-rested and ready to enjoy your vacation.” Russell Rosenburg, The National Sleep Foundation (US) “Your body craves a stable routine and bringing along familiar items will keep your sleep schedule on track.”

Travelling with your own pillow can provide several benefits and reasons why people choose to do so:

Comfort: Many people find their own pillow to be more comfortable than the pillows provided in hotels or accommodations. Having a familiar pillow can help you sleep better and ensure a restful night wherever you are.

Neck and Spine Support: If you have specific neck or back conditions, using your own pillow can offer the necessary support to maintain proper alignment and reduce discomfort while sleeping.

Allergies: Some individuals have allergies or sensitivities to certain materials commonly found in hotel pillows. Bringing your own hypoallergenic pillow ensures that you won't have an allergic reaction during your trip.

Familiarity: Sleeping on your own pillow can provide a sense of familiarity and make you feel more at home, especially if you're staying in a new or unfamiliar place. This can contribute to better sleep quality and a more relaxed state of mind.

Hygiene: While hotels and accommodations generally strive to maintain cleanliness, some people prefer to have their own pillow to ensure the highest level of hygiene during their travels. you can be certain that your pillow is clean and free from potential allergens or bed bugs.

Convenience: Bringing your own pillow means you don't have to spend time searching for the perfect pillow at your destination. It's readily available and saves you from potential discomfort or inconvenience.

Carrying a pillow isn't an easy option. Some of us carry it under our arm, open to all the germs around, yikes! Then there is an option of putting it in a garbage bag for transportation, very awkward… Or we simply try and squash it into our luggage reducing the amount of clothes we bring. There is a solution available to us that is easy, convenient and will keep your pillow protected while you travel.

SleepKeeper, an Australian business has created a water-resistant bag you place your pillow in and simply roll it up and fasten with Velcro and when you arrive at your destination undo the Velcro and a pillow will spring back to its original shape. It even works for memory foam and contour pillows too.

It is the perfect option for all travellers young and old. You can't take your bed, but you can take your pillow
